Ask the ArtisanSteve Fontanini is a blacksmith based in Teton County. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Wyoming, it is easy to see how he was inspired to create this tall iron side table with a detailed sculptural elements. A perfectly balanced and rounded owl perches atop a whimsical vined stem with intricately detailed hand forged leaves. A sturdy square glass tabletop supported by an iron “V” is echoed by a solid square iron base.
Steve Fontanini is a blacksmith, designer, and builder that uses steel, bronze, stainless steel, and aluminum. He’s taught blacksmithing classes and demonstrated both at his shop in Teton County, WY and throughout the US and says that the old adage, “the teacher learns more than the students,” still rings true. Steve was on-site in the BWH workshop to lead blacksmithing demonstrations during our grand opening and for two days in mid-August. His strength, precision, and ability to turn steel into incredible animals and objects is awe-inspiring.
