Rudy Strom was born in Lovell, Wyoming and grew up in Cowley, Wyoming where his cabinet/furniture business is head-quartered. When he was eighteen years old he helped his parents establish Cowley Lumber Company and after serving on an L.D.S. mission to Peru in 1983-84 he returned to work at the family business. He was elected mayor of Cowley at the age of twenty-five, but soon after moved to Colorado in 1989 to be closer to his wife’s family. He attended ITT Technical Institute soon after and graduated with a 4.0 in electronics engineering where he began designing a C.N.C. (computer-controlled) carving machine specifically for the wood-working industry. He started building custom cabinets and furniture in 2000 under the business name of Strom Galleries. He continues today to work in his gallery, where he creates many types of artistic and imaginative wood pieces with the help of his various computer-controlled wood-working machines.
